  Research Highlights

1. M.Sc. research entitled “Synthesis and evaluation of novel nitrogenous fertilizer products for enhancing nitrogen use efficiency” where nitrogen loaded nano clay biopolymer composites and coated urea formulations were synthesized, characterized and evaluated for their nitrogen use efficiency in maize crop. Ph.D. research topic on “Impact of long-term soil test based integrated use of manure and fertilizers on dynamics of soil carbon and major nutrients in pearl millet-wheat cropping system” where the long-term impact of soil test crop response correlation (STCR) based fertilization on fractions of soil carbon, nitrogen, potassium, sulphur and soil enzymes were studied. In the AICRP-19 project titled Assessment of water requirement of different forest tree species and its impact on subsoil moisture quantified sap flow velocity and transpiration rate in tree species (A. indica, P. juliflora, T. grandis, and A. latifolia) using sap flow meters. Examined cumulative effects of evapotranspiration and infiltration on subsoil moisture. Studied the contribution of subsoil moisture to tree transpiration for sustainable forest management.
